What does centralized mean?

Centralized describes a system whose command is concentrated. Instead of decision-making power being spread across many, it resides in an entity or a specific point, which coordinates the functioning of the whole. It is the most common model in traditional organizations, such as banks and companies, where a central administration sets the rules and maintains control over operations.

How it works

In a centralized arrangement, there is an authority that holds information, makes decisions, and is accountable for the system's operation. This concentration has practical advantages: decisions can be made quickly, coordination is simpler, and there is a clear party to turn to when something goes wrong. Many services work well precisely because of this clarity of command.
