Crypto to BRL Conversion Fees in Brazil

Complete guide updated April 2026

The crypto-to-fiat conversion fee is the cost charged by a platform to convert cryptocurrencies such as USDC, USDT or SOL into local currency (BRL) for payment or withdrawal. In Brazil, these fees range from 0.1% to 8%, depending on the platform type and the flow used. Understanding the composition of these fees is essential for choosing the most economical option.

Types of fees in crypto to BRL conversion

Spread

The spread is the difference between the buy price and the sell price of an asset. On exchanges, the spread can range from 0.1% to 2%, depending on the pair's liquidity. On dedicated off-ramps, the spread is usually embedded in the single fee charged. The lower the asset's liquidity, the higher the spread tends to be.

Fixed fee (percentage)

This is the percentage charged on the transaction value. At PagFinance, KYC-2 fees start at 2.75% (up to R$ 5,000) and decrease progressively to 1.75% (above R$ 100,000), with a minimum of R$ 1.20 for PIX. On exchanges, the trade fee ranges from 0.1% (Binance) to 0.7% (Mercado Bitcoin), but does not include other costs such as withdrawal and gas.

Network fee (gas fee)

This is the cost of the transaction on the blockchain. It varies by network: Solana charges a fraction of a cent, while Ethereum can cost tens of reais during congestion periods. At PagFinance, the gas fee is already included in the total value shown before confirmation.

Withdrawal fee

Charged by exchanges to send BRL to the user's bank. On Binance, PIX withdrawal costs R$ 3 to R$ 10 depending on the amount. On Mercado Bitcoin, there is a fixed withdrawal fee. On dedicated off-ramps like PagFinance, there is no separate withdrawal fee - the payment goes directly to the recipient.

Minimum fee

Minimum amount charged per transaction, regardless of percentage. At PagFinance, the minimum floor is R$ 1.20 for PIX and R$ 2.50 for boleto. For very low-value transactions, the minimum fee may represent a higher percentage than the nominal rate.

Real cost vs visible fee

An exchange's visible fee - like Binance's 0.1% or Mercado Bitcoin's 0.3% - doesn't tell the whole story. To convert crypto into a Brazilian payment (PIX or boleto), the exchange flow involves:

1. Deposit crypto on the exchange (gas fee from source network) 2. Sell the asset for BRL (trade fee + spread) 3. Wait for settlement 4. Request withdrawal to bank account (withdrawal fee) 5. Wait for withdrawal processing (D+0 to D+1)

Adding all these costs, a R$ 500 transaction on Binance can cost between R$ 5 and R$ 15 in total (1% to 3%), depending on the deposit network and withdrawal amount. On PagFinance, the same transaction with KYC-2 would cost R$ 13.75 (2.75%), with instant PIX processing.

For smaller amounts, the difference is even more pronounced. A R$ 50 transaction on Binance would have a fixed withdrawal cost representing more than 6% of the value, while on PagFinance the cost would be R$ 1.75 (3.50% with KYC-1) or R$ 1.38 (2.75% with KYC-2).
